This is a strategy I use with myself and my clients all the time.
Personally, my minimum effective dose is 3 strength workouts per week, 8-10,000 steps daily, 3 meals of protein and veggies and my bodyweight + in oz of water daily.
If I nail that, I consider it a win, and I know I’ll at least maintain my progress.
Your minimum effective will likely look different and that’s ok. All that matters is it feels attainable for you.
And when sh@t hits the fan, you’ll be grateful that you have some structure in place because it will serve as a life raft to help you keep swimming.

Did you know, that as we age, we are more likely to be dehydrated?
We just have less fluid in our bodies, and our thirst signals are dampened!
And of course, water is the basis of all things, including how we recover, how we perform in our workouts, how our brain functions cognitively, skin health, etc.
And how do you know that you are getting enough fluid?
Well, the good old urine color test works just fine: pale straw color means adequate hydration, darker indicates dehydration, and lighter indicates overhydration.
If you find drinking plain water just a little bit boring, these are my top tips on increasing your fluid intake:
1️⃣Get a water bottle that you love so that you’re more likely to take it with you AND you’re more likely to want to drink from it
2️⃣Add citrus, herbs, fruit, or vegetable vegetables to the water to add flavor - if it’s tastier, you’re more likely to drink!
3️⃣ Try herbal teas! It counts towards hydration (the diuretic effect is actually minimal, but watch the caffeine!!!)
4️⃣Fill a large jug at the beginning of the day with your favorite combo of flavored water, or cooled herbal tea, and make sure to get to the bottom of it by lunchtime if possible!

Short-term changes are a waste of time, do this instead…
You need an identity shift because true behavior change is more than just a series of actions.
Have you ever told yourself, “I’m the type of person who finishes what they start,” or “I’m someone who values showing up on time”?
When you identify as that person, motivation becomes a part of who you are, not something you have to seek.
This is HUGE if you’ve struggled with motivation in the past, and found yourself wishing it would magically appear out of thin air.
I’m someone who keeps promises I make. This means that I don’t need to be motivated to follow through when I keep a promise and also that I only make promises to myself and others that I intend to keep 😉
Habits aren’t just about the external results though; they’re votes for the type of person you want to become.
As an example, a workout isn’t just about burning calories; it’s a vote for being an active, strong, lean person who doesn’t skip workouts!! 🤩
In our coaching journey, we focus on choosing behaviors that align with your future self.
This isn’t just about how you look in clothes or what you eat; it’s about evolving into a healthier version of you, confident and full of joy.

You don`t want to miss this! Our monthly San Diego steakhouse date night continues!
If you missed January’s visit to Cowboy Star, go check it out. This month, we hit up Huntress in the Gaslamp and let’s just say, it was a whole different vibe.
💡 First Impressions: Definitely more of a club/lounge atmosphere, think center-stage bar, music, and a lively downtown crowd. I had requested a booth when I made the reservation, but since we were a two-top, we got seated in the middle of the room with the kitchen behind us. Not exactly my ideal setup, but we rolled with it.
🍸 Drinks & Starters: I kicked things off with a Suntory Toki Highball a solid option when you’re not in the mood to drop $40 on a cocktail. We split the Parker House rolls with three types of butter (of course!), short rib en croute, and little gem Caesar salad.
🥩 The Main Event: I went with the filet mignon, Drew had the boneless ribeye, and we shared the whipped Yukon potato purée. Everything was solid, but nothing that had us dying to come back. We skipped dessert partially because we were full, but mostly because nothing really stood out.
⭐ Final Thoughts: Service was great, the food was good, but the vibe? Definitely Gaslamp club energy...loud, trendy, and more scene than steakhouse. Maybe it’s me getting older 🤷♀️ but I prefer a place where I don’t have to yell across the table to have a conversation. Would I go back? Probably not, but I’m glad we checked it off the list!
